Using styrofoam risers to protect the carpet while it dries.
We just cleaned some wool wall to wall carpet for a customer in Old Lyme.
After we clean, we put styrofoam blocks under the furniture legs to prevent them from bleading into the carpet. With wool carpet, it is best to keep the blocks in place for a couple of days because wool can retain moisture for up to 48 hours.
