A customer in Guilford CT asked me the other day about how she can keep her carpets and floors clean during the winter. It is a challenge to keep everything
clean when Mother Nature keeps dumping sloppy snow storms on us, but there are a few things that you can do to keep the mud outside.
- First, put a walk off matt down on the floor where you enter the house from outside.
- Second keep a shoe rack or a small shelf in the same area and keep clean slippers or “indoor” shoes on the rack and change your shoes when you come in from the outside.
- Third, vacuum your carpets at least once per week (this is good advice any time of year).
